Gonzales Resigns

Was this expected? It was predicted by the Zetas last March, but both Bush and Gonzales had been steadfastly denying the possibility. Apparently Gonzales was insisting and Bush was resisting.

Embattled Attorney General Resigns
August 27, 2007
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/27/washington/27cnd-gonzales.html?
Mr. Gonzales appeared cheerful and composed when he announced that he was stepping down effective Sept. 17. Mr. Bush repeatedly stood by Mr. Gonzales, an old friend and colleague from Texas, even as Mr. Gonzales faced increasing scrutiny for his leadership of the Justice Department over issues including his role in the dismissals of nine United States attorneys late last year and whether he testified truthfully about the National Security Agency's surveillance programs. Mr. Gonzales, who was in Washington, had called the president in Crawford, Tex., on Friday to offer his resignation. The president rebuffed the offer, but said the two should talk face to face on Sunday. Mr. Gonzales and his wife flew to Texas, and over lunch on Sunday the president accepted the resignation with regret. Why would Gonzales insist on resigning if Bush was solidly behind him? Per the Zetas, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was struggling, during his tenure, to avoid criminal or impeachable conduct, all the while trying to honor to some degree the dictates coming from the White House crowd. The Zetas described his struggle last March, and predicted at that time that a resignation would be the outcome.

ZetaTalk Prediction 3/26/2007: We mentioned a year ago when the Department of Justice (DOJ) was investigating the National Security Agency (NSA), and the FBI investigating the CIA, that Gonzales was very worried about this own skin. He has been close to Bush long enough to know the likely outcome if and when this presidency goes down. Watergate is an example. The President retired, and others went to prison. He is expected, as a long term friend of Bush who has benefited immensely from his association with Bush to be loyal and facilitate what Bush wants. On the other hand, he can see where his path is leading, and fears a prison term for himself. Gonzales has been attempting to trip through the minefield, keeping his integrity, avoiding giving testimony under oath in hopes that this muddies the water, avoiding direct responsibility for acts in hopes that this keeps him above the fray, all the while remaining a loyal Bushie in the eyes of Bush as such rewards as a Supreme Court justice position might lie in the future. So when there are discussions about getting rid of attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, whom Bush insisted should be fired, or removing the US attorneys who went after Duke Cunningham or were investigating Fogo's CIA bribery parties, then nervously give the nod, off the record, and leave the room! Gonzales prevented Bush from firing Fitzgerald, something he angrily ordered ala Nixon, so where it looks as though Rove and Miers were having their way, in fact Gonzales only let them have a few crumbs! Will the truth come out in Congressional hearings? Yes, but not because Bush or Rove or Miers confess, but because the email is so convoluted that a trail can be laid out. Was Gonzales at the helm, causing these firings? He was certainly cognizant, and did nothing, apparently, to stop the process. Impeachment by Congress is the handwriting on the wall unless he resigns, which is likely.

Will Gonzales avoid the wrath of Congress, now that he has resigned? Even if Congress proves perjury on the part of Gonzales, a new Attorney General is unlikely to prosecute given that Bush will likely only offer up other Bushies as candidates.

Replacement Candidates

Per the Zetas, the replacement for Gonzales is likely to be another insider, loyal to Bush and turning his back on the criminal conduct within the White House, just as Gonzales did.

ZetaTalk Prediction 7/28/2007: Clearly, every time a staunch defender of the Bush team is removed, this makes it more difficult for Bush to function as he is used to doing, as a dictator without fear of discovery. Newcomers must be informed of the dirty dealings that went on in the past, and this takes time and energy, and often requires compromise with the newcomer who may be horrified and refuse to turn their back on such dealings. Bush is likely to insist on a new Attorney General similar to Gonzales, and there are many, many such men in the private sector.

The first thought was Chertoff for Attorney General! Just as the Zetas said, another insider.

Senior Admin. Officials: Chertoff May Get Nod
August 27, 2007
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/08/27/senior-admin-officials-chertoff-likely-to-get-nod/
President Bush may nominate Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to replace Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General. Chertoff, 53, previously sat on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which handles appeals from New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the Virgin Islands. Before becoming a judge, he was assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice's criminal division from 2001 to 2003. Bush has a week to install a new Attorney General by recess appointment.

If not Chertoff, the others on the short list are insiders too. Two of the three candidates were involved in the vote fraud issues that gained Bush the White House in 2000. Just the kind of candidate Bush would be seeking.

Who Will Be Gonzales' Successor? Insiders Speculate
August 28, 2007
http://rawstory.com//news/2007/Who_will_be_Gonzales_successor_Insiders_0828.html
The abrupt departure of Alberto Gonzales from his post atop the Justice Department has led many to speculate who President George W. Bush will choose to succeed his Texas confidant. The list of candidates who would be acceptable to both Bush and his Senate critics -- who must confirm the nomination -- is short. A source close to the White House mentions that ex-Deputy Attorney General George J. Terwilliger III is "looking very good." Terwilliger, who headed Bush's legal team during the 2000 Florida recount, led the Justice Department briefly in 1993 following the departure of Attorney General William Barr. He now practices law in Washington. Former Solicitor General Ted Olson and former appellate judge Laurence Silberman are "also in the running." Olson was in charge of the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel as assistant attorney general from 1981 to 1984. He represented Bush in front of the Supreme Court in the case Bush v Gore, which ultimately decided the 2000 election.

White House Exodus

With yet another insider leaving the White House, and his replacement needing confirmation by a Democratic Congress, how will the White House function? In particular, how will Bush hold up?

ZetaTalk Explanation 8/29/2007: Bush has seen the group of insiders assembled around him when he took office after the 2000 elections diminish. One by one, they have been chased out in shame, at the center of some controversy. Rumsfeld, for the failure in Iraq and the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. Miers during the failed attempt to pack the Supreme Court with an unqualified Bushie. Rove due to continuing investigations into his involvement not only in the Plame affair but the firing of Attorney Generals for political reasons. And now Gonzales, a close friend of Bush, leaving while Congress is yapping at Gonzales' heels, demanding he reconcile his various stories. Aides have been leaving in droves too, desperate to be someplace other than the White House when the crimes they have been involved in come to light. No one wants to stay the course with Bush, who is viewed as someone with political leprosy at a minimum, or as someone who will be arrested for crimes more likely. Will this White House attract competent help, during its last months? Will there be a change in policy, more in accordance with law and less the lawbreaker?

The Bush supposed resiliency is misunderstood, as it is the rigidity of the weak, an inability to change course. Thus, even when losing on all fronts, he persists and insists on "staying the course". Iraq is lost, the surge an exercise in yet more failure, yet he will insist this be presented as a success when the September report is due. He has been caught at illegal wiretapping but has not stopped this activity even while bantering with Congress about changing the law. He has attempted to incite war with Iran numerous times and to declare martial law numerous times, always being blocked by either the US military or the federal agencies who are wise to his agenda and countering it, yet in his heart he holds out hope of achieving these goals, somehow. This is the mind of someone who is not connected with reality, as evidenced by his assertion that he speaks to God, and is acting in concert with God by doing what he has been doing. Go into the mental institutions and see how many of the patients, in their need to feel special and in control of their lives, declare the same!

Memphis Bridge

Another Mississippi bridge was affected by the diagonal pull on the N American continent, just as the Zetas predicted! They predicted that land to the west of the Mississippi would drop during this process.

ZetaTalk Prediction 8/16/2006: It pulls at a diagonal, ripping the rock fingers along the New Madrid Fault such that the land to the east of the Mississippi moves up and to the east, toward New England, and the land to the west of the Mississippi moves down and to the west. This does more than tear most of the bridges along the Mississippi, it weakens the land to the west of the Mississippi, causing it to drop. The land to the east of the Mississippi is rock, the bluffs of Memphis and underlying rock where the Appalachian Mountains curl through Tennessee and Alabama toward the Mississippi River. But the land south of the Ozarks is not solid rock, and when stretched will drop in elevation. This is already occurring.

Eastbound Span of I-40 Bridge Over Mississippi Reopened
August 27, 2007
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/08/27/river.bridge.closed.ap/index.html?iref=newssearch
Officials closed a major Mississippi River bridge between Tennessee and Arkansas for nine hours Monday after a pier under a small approach span settled several inches overnight. The approach span for the Interstate 40 bridge was still supported by other piers, so the most motorists might have noticed was a slight dip, said Randy Ort, a spokesman for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. Engineers closed the span just after morning rush hour after finding a pier near the river had settled 31/2 inches. The problem was likely caused by additional, longer pilings being driven to improve the bridge's stability. While crews worked beneath one half of the bridge, the other half was carrying 35,600 vehicles daily. Workers have been improving bridges along I-40 to make them safer in case of earthquakes. The New Madrid fault runs through the area.

The piling that sank was on the west side of the bridge, the side the Zetas had predicted would sink during the New Madrid ripping process.

I-40 Bridge Shutdown
August 27, 2007
http://www.wreg.com/global/story.asp?s=6990870
The Tennessee Department of Transportation shut the bridge down Monday morning after noticing a support beam on the Arkansas side approach bridge sank 3 to 5 inches. Officials believe earthquake retrofitting on the bridge led to vibrations that caused the damage.

The bridge had been retrofitted with special isolation bearings designed to allow the bridge to withstand Richter 7 earthquake shaking, but these would not prevent a piling from sinking.

I-40 Mississippi River Bridge
http://www.earthquakeprotection.com/i-40_bridge.html
The I-40 Bridge over the Mississippi River is a vital transportation, commercial and defense link in the Memphis area. It is situated at the southeastern edge of the New Madrid Seismic Zone, where 3 of the largest earthquakes in the Central United States occurred in the 1800's. It was retrofitted with Friction PendulumTM isolation bearings designed to withstand a magnitude 7 earthquake occurring on the New Madrid fault. Use of Friction PendulumTM bearings allows the 40 year old bridge to remain operational after an extreme earthquake event. With a vertical load carrying capacity of over 20 million pounds, the Friction PendulumTM bearing for the I-40 Bridge is the world's largest load carrying seismic isolation bearing. These high load capacity bearings were dynamically tested at the University of California, San Diego, where they underwent simulated earthquake tests with velocities of 54 inches per second.

The news reports stated the piling sank because of vibrations. Yet these pilings are footed on solid rock beneath the mud. What's really going on here? The Zetas explain.

ZetaTalk Explanation 8/29/2007: We have warned for over a year that bridges over the Mississippi would meet with problems as the diagonal torque imposed on the N American continent and the stretch along the east coast of the US and the St. Lawrence Seaway continued. The Seaway stretch brought the Minneapolis I-35 bridge down, but it was the pull along the east coast of the US that affected the footing under the Memphis I-40 bridge. From Florida to Pennsylvania, the land is being pulled down during the regular tugging and pushing by Planet X on the Earth's magnetic hot spots - the S Pole, the N Pole, and the Atlantic Rift. As the Atlantic Rift pulls apart, land along the edges loses support, and drops, pulling all attached land mass along with it to some degree.

We have explained that rivers lie along low points which are where the land within a plate has pulled apart, lacking support, and thus has dropped. Thus, the Mississippi is a low or weakly supported point on the N American continent, where rock layers have pulled apart and are thin. Such points spread readily when the stretch occurs. Rock layers are not homogeneous, dropping as a unit when stretched so that their layers pull apart. There are points where the rock layer resists being pulled apart, and points where they slide apart readily. Thus, during this stretch, for the rock layers on the Arkansas side of the Memphis bridge to settle, unevenly, is not surprising. For the cause of this piling to be settling because of "vibrations", as reported in the news, is outside of any prior experience with pilings, which are individually placed on rock.
